ABOUT MARIANNA
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me.
My name is Marianna, and I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and Counsellor based in Edinburgh. I offer both in-person and online therapy, providing a safe, compassionate, and confidential space where you can explore life’s challenges, gain greater self-understanding, and move towards lasting emotional wellbeing.
Originally from Naples, Italy, I began my professional career as a teacher of Modern Languages and Cultures. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for human connection, cultural diversity, and the transformative power of communication. After moving to the UK—first to London and later to Edinburgh—I chose to follow my passion for supporting people on a deeper level and retrained as a psychotherapist.
I believe that healing happens when we feel truly heard, accepted, and understood. My therapeutic approach is holistic, recognising the profound connection between the mind, body, and emotions. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I work collaboratively with clients to understand the underlying patterns that may be keeping them stuck, helping them develop healthier ways of coping, healing, and thriving.
My aim is to create a warm, non-judgemental environment where you feel comfortable bringing every part of yourself into the therapy room. Together, we will explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, working at a pace that feels right for you while building practical tools to support meaningful and lasting change.
Alongside my general counselling and psychotherapy practice, I have a particular interest in supporting individuals and couples experiencing infertility. I understand how emotionally overwhelming fertility challenges can be and how they can affect every aspect of life, including relationships, self-esteem, identity, and hope for the future. Therapy can provide a space to process these complex emotions, strengthen resilience, and help you feel less alone throughout your journey.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with people from many different backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences. Every individual is unique, and I tailor therapy to meet your specific needs, drawing on evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) alongside a compassionate, person-centred and holistic approach.
Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, struggling with anxiety, working through past experiences, navigating infertility, or simply looking to understand yourself more deeply, you do not have to face it alone.
Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, but it is also an investment in yourself and your future. I would be honoured to accompany you on your journey towards healing, growth, and a more fulfilling life.
